The back of a wooden 'death stick' This represents the dark side of the occult and the magician would use it for cursing an opponent or in psychic attacks. At the top of the stick on all four sides is a crudely drawn head and the word death. On the two sides not shown are other symbols. This is approximately 6 inches long and 1 inch thick.
A representation of the entrance into the Vault of the Adepts. This is taken from the front cover of the booklet The Outer Court written by Robert Turner and David Edwards and published by the Order of the Cubic Stone. The cover was orignally designed by Robert Turner. The symbol is also a very useful meditative exercise.
This is the original cover of the booklet INCARNATION written by Order of the Cubic Stone member Frater S.F.C. The booklet deals with an initiate's journey through this present incarnation, what should be done, dedication, the purpose of life, etc. S.F.C. was the magical name of David Edwards ,the author, and stood for Stretch Forth and Conquer.
This property on the A449 was used by the OCS in the early 1970s. The upstairs bay window was the temple room, fully decorated with occult paraphernalia and a symbolic Vault of the Adepts. Underneath was the library and lecture room. Our office was in the room over the small vaulted area. In those days lecture notes, leaflets and booklets were all produced using a gestetner machine which usually meant hands and fingers well coated with ink.
Any one passing along the Penn Rd in Wolverhampton will easily notice the structure, but please note that it no longer has any direct communication to the OCS.
